1 Person Killed In A Pedestrian Accident In Austin (Austin, TX)

In a tragic pedestrian accident in Downtown Austin, a man lost his life after being struck by a white lifted pickup truck early Monday morning. The Austin Police Department (APD) reported that the collision occurred a little after 2:30 a.m. on Seventh Street, just east of Red River Street.

Despite prompt response from Austin-Travis-County EMS, the victim was found fatally injured and was pronounced dead at the fatal crash.  The identity of the man has not been disclosed at this time. 

The driver of the pickup truck, however, is not in custody, and the investigators have yet to disclose if the driver was injured in the collision. It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the collision. The APD is actively seeking information and cooperation from the public to aid in the ongoing investigation.
