In a tragic incident, a pedestrian lost their life after being struck by a car on the I-35 service road in north Austin on Thursday morning. The pedestrian accident occurred just before 7 a.m. at the intersection with East Powell Lane, located north of US 183.
Despite the prompt response from Austin-Travis County EMS, the individual was pronounced dead at the scene. As police conduct their investigation, the southbound frontage road remains closed, while the main lanes and flyovers remain open.
The events leading up to the fatal crash are not entirely clear at this time. Authorities have not yet released the identity of the victim, and further details may emerge as the investigation progresses.
