1 Person Killed In A Pedestrian Accident In Albuquerque (Albuquerque, NM)

February 26, 2024 – Nationwide Report®

The Albuquerque Police Department (APD) is probing a tragic collision that claimed the life of a pedestrian near Tramway Boulevard and Montgomery Boulevard. The pedestrian accident unfolded during the night when a Toyota FJ Cruiser, traveling south on Tramway Blvd. in the left lane at the apparent speed limit, collided with the pedestrian crossing from west to east.

The pedestrian, whose identity remains undisclosed, was fatally injured in the collision. According to a witness at a red light, the pedestrian appeared to jump off a curb, attempting to cross the street before the vehicle approached.

The driver of the FJ Cruiser stated they were adhering to the speed limit and only saw a blur before the collision. APD suspects pedestrian error as the cause, ruling out speed or alcohol involvement. Investigations into the fatal crash are ongoing.
