A fatal collision occurred on LA Hwy 659 Tuesday evening, claiming the life of one individual, according to Louisiana State Police Troop C. The crash occurred around 8 p.m. near Lafayette Woods Boulevard and involved three vehicles.
State police reported that the driver of a 2004 Pontiac Grand Am crossed the centerline, side-swiping a 2022 RAM 3500 before colliding head-on with a 2023 Chevrolet Suburban.
Tragically, the Pontiac driver, who was not wearing a seatbelt, sustained fatal injuries and died at the scene.
Both occupants of the Chevrolet and RAM were wearing seatbelts, with the former sustaining minor injuries and the latter remaining uninjured. The identity of the Pontiac driver remains unknown, and further details on the incident are pending investigation.
