A fatal crash occurred late Saturday night at the intersection of Harrison Avenue and Queen City Avenue in South Fairmount, claiming the life of one person. The incident, reported around 11:20 p.m., involved a collision between a sedan and an SUV.
According to authorities, a 24-year-old man was driving the sedan when an unknown individual operating the SUV struck the vehicle. The driver of the SUV fled the scene on foot. Sadly, a passenger in the SUV was transported to UC Medical Center and later succumbed to their injuries.
Investigations are ongoing to determine if seatbelts were utilized and to assess impairment and speed as potential factors contributing to the crash.
