According to the Gila River Police, a motor vehicle collision involving two vehicles that occurred in Chandler claimed the life of a person on Wednesday.
Roughly at 5:00 p.m., a van crashed into another vehicle on Riggs Road near State Route 347, on the Gila River Indian Reservation, West of Chandler. The events leading up to the crash are not entirely clear at this time. The driver of the other vehicle was fatally injured in the crash.
The identity of the dead is not yet disclosed. It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash. The cause of the fatal crash is still being investigated. No further information is available at the moment.
