The crash happened on Interstate 680.
According to the investigators, an unknown Tesla and a fire truck were involved in the collision.
The officials stated that the Tesla was traveling at a high speed and smashed into a fire truck.
The Tesla driver suffered significant injuries and was pronounced dead following the collision.
The Walnut Creek Police Department did not reveal the identity and the name of the unknown deceased person.
It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the accident.
