1 Person Killed In A Multi-Vehicle Accident In Tyler (Tyler, TX)

A fatal crash occurred on Hwy. 31 East on Tuesday evening, claiming one person’s life. The multi-vehicle accident, reported just after 6 p.m. in the 3000 block of Hwy 31 East, east of SSE Loop 323, involved a white pickup and a passenger sedan.

According to DPS Sgt. Adam Albritton, one person was fatally injured in the crash, and their identity has not been disclosed. Emergency services, including Chapel Hill and Jackson Heights VFDs, responded to the scene due to entrapment in one of the vehicles.

Both eastbound and westbound traffic were temporarily shut down but had reopened by 9 p.m. The Texas DPS and Smith County ESD2 are conducting investigations into the tragic incident.
