The California Highway Patrol reported a multi-vehicle accident on Tuesday. The accident occurred on Highway 20 in rural Sutter County just before 1 p.m.
According to the officials, a Jeep Wrangler crossed over the center line and crashed into two vehicles. There were a total of three vehicles involved in the collision.
The driver of the Jeep had incurred fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The people in the other two vehicles incurred severe injuries and had to be airlifted to a nearby hospital. Their identities are not yet known at this time.
The cause of the fatal crash is still being investigated. It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the collision. There are no other details available at this time.
