According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol, a multi-vehicle accident occurred in Spring Hill on southbound I-65.
The crash happened at mile marker 55 between Interstate 840 and Saturn Parkway.
The officials stated that a dump truck and a passenger vehicle were involved in the collision.
According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol Troopers, one person was pronounced dead at the scene.
The identity of the victim was not revealed by the troopers.
Some portions of southbound I-65 are blocked for further investigation.
The officials are investigating whether drugs, alcohol, distracted driving, or speed played a factor in the crash.
