The Arizona Department of Public Safety reported a three-vehicle accident on Saturday.
The accident occurred on Loop 101 in Scottsdale at around 1:55 a.m.
According to the officials, a driver was driving south on the northbound lanes when it collided with two other vehicles.
The driver of the vehicle which had been driving the wrong way incurred fatal injuries and was killed in the collision.
The officials have not reported how many other people were injured in the accident and the extent of the injuries.
The identities of those involved have not been disclosed.
The fatal accident is still being investigated by the police.
It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the accident.
There are no other details available at this time.
