According to the California Highway Patrol, a multi-vehicle accident occurred in San Diego County on Thursday. The crash happened on South Rancho Santa Fe Road, near La Colusa Drive at around 7 a.m.
According to the investigators, a 2016 Jeep Cherokee and a 2008 Lincoln MKZ were involved in the collision. The Jeep driver struck a raised median, collided with a 2008 Lincoln MKZ, overturned, and caught fire.
Both the drivers suffered significant injuries and were transported to the hospital for treatment. The Jeep driver was later pronounced dead at the hospital and his name and identity were not revealed.
The accident is still being investigated by the authorities. Additional information regarding the fatal crash is not available currently.
