The California Highway Patrol reported a multi-vehicle accident in Riverside on Tuesday. The accident occurred on the westbound lanes of 91 Freeway, just west of Cridge Street at around 5:27 p.m.
According to the officials, a 2020 Kawasaki Ninja was headed down the highway when it split lanes. At the same time, a 2010 Acura TSX made a sudden lane change which caused the two vehicles to collide. The motorcycle was then thrown into the path of a semi-truck which hit it again.
The motorcyclist was fatally injured from the two impacts and was pronounced dead at the scene. The identity of the driver has not been disclosed at this time. The Acura initially fled the scene but the officials were able to track it down.
The fatal crash is still being investigated at this time.
