1 Person Killed In A Multi-Vehicle Accident In Redding (Redding, CA)

November 27, 2023 – Nationwide Report®

A tragic multi-vehicle accident on Saturday in the 1000 block of Hartnell Avenue in Redding has left one person dead. Around 3:15 p.m., Redding police responded to the scene, finding one of the drivers trapped inside a pickup truck and unresponsive.

Despite emergency personnel’s efforts to extricate him and transport him to Mercy Medical Center, he was pronounced dead. The other driver, 31-year-old Daveiontay Norwood of Redding, displayed symptoms of being under the influence of alcohol and narcotics. This was confirmed during an evaluation.

A preliminary investigation suggests Norwood, travelling at a high speed, collided with the other driver pulling out of a public driveway. The passenger in Norwood’s car fled the fatal crash. Speed is considered a factor, and witnesses are urged to contact the Redding Police Department Traffic Unit with information.
