A tragic multi-vehicle accident unfolded in Lake Balboa Tuesday morning, resulting in a fatality and critical injuries. At approximately 9:45 a.m., two vehicles collided with a tree and a commercial building in the 17300 block of Saticoy Street.
Initially reported as a “solo sedan vs. tree/commercial building” incident, it was later confirmed that a white Toyota Tacoma pickup truck and a compact car were involved. The driver of the pickup truck, an adult man, was fatally injured and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The other driver, an adult woman, sustained critical injuries and was transported to a regional trauma centre. Emergency responders managed a gas leak caused by damage to a natural gas meter. The fatal crash site, near a Panda Express restaurant, remains under investigation, with lane closures expected until completion.
