According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, a multi-vehicle accident occurred in Liberty on Thursday. The crash happened about 10 miles south of the Liberty city limits on FM 563 at around 5:25 a.m.
According to the investigators, a 2019 Mitsubishi Outlander, a 2004 GMC Sierra, and a 2016 Ford F-350 Dually were involved in the collision. The officials stated that the driver of the Outlander drifted into the southbound lane of travel and struck the GMC. The Ford driver was following the Sierra pickup and struck Outlander for a second time.
According to the reports, the driver of the Outlander suffered significant injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The identity of the driver has not been disclosed at this time.
The accident is still being investigated. Additional information regarding the fatal crash is not available currently.
