The California Highway Patrol reported a multi-vehicle accident in Lancaster on Monday night. The accident occurred on Challenger Way at Avenue E, just before 6 p.m.
According to the officials, two vehicles were involved in the collision. The events leading up to the crash are not entirely clear at this time. A Kia Sorrento was off the side of the road, and a big rig with major front damage was seen on the road.
The driver of the sedan was taken to a hospital but was fatally injured. They were pronounced dead there. Two others in the sedan were also injured. The identity of the victim is not yet known at this time.
The cause of the fatal crash is still being investigated by the authorities. It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the collision. There are no other details available at this time.
