A fatal crash unfolded Sunday morning on southbound Highway 242 near Concord. Police investigated a two-car collision that claimed the life of one driver. California Highway Patrol (CHP) responded to the scene following a call about the incident around 7:36 a.m., located south of Clayton Road.
According to investigators, a BMW SUV and a Ford sedan, each with a single occupant, collided. Tragically, the driver of the Ford was fatally injured and was pronounced dead at the scene. The identity of the deceased driver has not been disclosed.
Remarkably, the driver of the BMW emerged from the crash unharmed. Authorities continue to probe the circumstances surrounding the multi-vehicle accident, seeking to unravel the events leading to the fatal outcome on Highway 242.
