A devastating multi-vehicle accident, including a school bus, unfolded in Collin County on Wednesday before 4 p.m., specifically on the Long Bridge at FM 3286 in Lucas. Tragically, one person was fatally injured in the collision and was pronounced dead at the scene, as confirmed by Lucas Fire.

Two individuals were transported to a nearby hospital, while nine high school students were on the bus during the fatal crash, according to Princeton ISD. Fortunately, only one student required evaluation by Emergency Medical Services and has since been released. 

The Long Bridge is temporarily closed to facilitate the ongoing crash investigation. As the community mourns the loss, further details about the incident are anticipated to emerge during the investigative process.
