Authorities reported that part of State Highway 45 was shut down in Austin on February 5, following a multi-vehicle accident. The crash occurred around 6:45 a.m. near the US 183 toll road.
According to reports, the collision involved a pick-up truck and an 18-wheeler. As a result, one person was fatally injured and pronounced dead at the scene. Another person was left with minor injuries. All westbound lanes of SH 45 near the US 183 toll road were closed from Lake Creek Parkway to the end of the toll. The identity of the victim has not been revealed yet.
The cause of the fatal crash is still being investigated by the authorities. It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the collision. As investigations continue, no further details have been released regarding the incident.
