A tragic bus crash near Austin-Bergstrom International Airport in Del Valle claimed the life of one person and left three others hospitalized. The multi-vehicle accident occurred just after 9:30 a.m. on December 11 in the 2700 block of E SH 71’s westbound service road near Del Valle Street.
According to Austin police, a car rear-ended a CapMetro bus at a bus stop, involving a total of six adults. Two individuals were critically injured in the fatal crash and were transported to St. David’s South Austin Medical Center, while two more were taken to Dell Seton Medical Center.
Despite medical efforts, one person succumbed to their injuries at the hospital. The identity of the victim is not yet known at this time. The Austin Police Department is actively investigating the collision.
