According to the California Highway Patrol, a solo motor vehicle crash in Shasta County killed a man and left others injured.

Roughly at 5:20 a.m., a van driven by 41-year-old Jose Sanchez Del Valle, in an attempt to make a turn, lost control, swerved off the road, and struck a few trees. This led the vehicle to end up in an embankment. At least one person was fatally injured and was pronounced dead at the scene. The others were injured, though the extent of their injuries is not yet known.

The identity of the dead is not yet disclosed. It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash. The cause of the fatal crash is still being investigated. No further information is available at the moment.
