A fatal crash occurred near Roy on Wednesday morning, resulting in the death of one driver and blocking both directions of state Route 507, according to the Washington State Patrol.
The collision, reported around 6:14 a.m. at 295th Street South, prompted a response from state troopers, medical responders, and WSDOT personnel. Drivers were advised to avoid Route 507 in the area as authorities worked to clear the scene.
WSDOT’s travel map showed significant traffic congestion between Roy and McKenna, with estimates suggesting a road closure for at least two more hours following the incident.
Authorities are investigating the incident.
