According to the California Highway Patrol, a bicyclist was struck by a vehicle in a motor vehicle accident which resulted in his death. The accident occurred in Lancaster on Thursday.
At approximately 10:50 p.m., a 24-year-old man driving a 2012 Chevrolet east on Avenue L struck the bicycle in the same direction. The bicyclist was fatally injured and was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene for the investigation.
The identity of the bicyclist is not yet disclosed. Alcohol and drugs did not play a role in the collision. The cause of the fatal crash is still being investigated. No further information is available at the moment.
