The California Highway Patrol reported a motor vehicle crash involving two vehicles in Fresno County that killed a person on Saturday. Approximately at 12:25 a.m., a 2023 Honda Accord driven by 30-year-old Vikash Kumar was headed down the westbound lanes of Highway 180.
He attempted to make a turn eventually colliding with a 2016 Buick Enclave. The passenger in the Honda was fatally injured and was pronounced dead at the scene. Kumar was transported to the hospital with major injuries. He was also booked for felony vehicular manslaughter and DUI.
The identity of the dead is not yet disclosed. It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash. The cause of the fatal crash is still being investigated.
