The Los Angeles Police Department reported a motor vehicle collision involving two vehicles that resulted in the death of one of the drivers in Palmdale on Saturday.
At around 11:36 p.m., a red Kia Sportage struck the side of a semi-truck that was making a turn on westbound State Highway 138 to Pearblossom Highway. The Kia lost control of the vehicle and again struck a GMC black terrain that was driving northbound on Fort Tejon Road.
The driver of the Kia was fatally injured and was pronounced dead at the scene. The identity of the dead is not yet disclosed. It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash. The cause of the fatal crash is still being investigated.
