According to the California Highway Patrol, a woman was killed in a two-vehicle collision in Fremont on Saturday.
Roughly at 1:15 a.m., a Gray Dodge Ram which was travelling in the wrong way on I-680, collided with a White BMW 330i. As a result, the Dodge toppled down and caught fire.
The driver of the Dodge and the driver of the BMW were transported to the Regional Medical Center of San Jose with severe injuries. The woman occupant of the BMW was fatally injured and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The identity of the dead is not yet disclosed. It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash. The cause of the fatal crash is still being investigated.
