The California Highway Patrol reported a motor vehicle accident in Woodland on Wednesday. The accident occurred on Interstate 80 at around 10:12 p.m.
According to the officials, a vehicle was driving on the highway, east of Webster Street, at a high speed. It suddenly veered off of the road, causing the car to overturn.
One of the people present in the vehicle was fatally injured and pronounced dead at the scene. The identity of the deceased victim is not yet known at this time. The officials have not confirmed if there were other people injured in the accident.
Officials have reported that they suspect alcohol or drugs to have played a role in the fatal collision. Speed was also a factor.
