The San Diego County Sheriff’s Department reported a motor vehicle accident on Sunday. The accident occurred on North Melrose Drive, near the intersection with Tatum Street at around 11:25 p.m. on Saturday.
According to the officials, a black Mercedes was headed south on Melrose when it lost control and veered off the west side of the road way. This caused it to crash into a pole.
The driver of the vehicle incurred fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The identity of the deceased victim is not yet known at this time.
The cause of the fatal crash is still being investigated by the authorities. It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the collision. There are no other details available at this time.
