The California Highway Patrol reported a motor vehicle accident in Sutter County on Saturday. The accident occurred just outside of Yuba City, on south George Washington Boulevard near Lincoln Road.
According to the officials, two vehicles were involved in a head-on collision. A White Honda Accord was headed south when the driver went into the northbound lanes. This caused it to crash into a Blue Mazda 3.
A passenger present in the Honda was fatally injured and was pronounced dead at the scene. The identity of the deceased victim is not yet known at this time. Others involved were taken to a hospital for treatment.
The driver of the Honda, identified as 38-year-old Adrienne Maloney, was found to have been driving under the influence at the time of the fatal crash.
