According to the Santa Ana Police, a motor vehicle accident occurred in Santa Ana on Sunday.
The crash happened on the southbound lanes of the 5 Freeway at State Route 55 at around 2:10 a.m.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene suffering major injuries and his identity was not revealed by the Santa Ana Police.
The officials are investigating whether drugs, alcohol, distracted driving, or speed played a factor in the crash.
Some portions of State Route 55 and the carpool lane of the 5 Freeway are blocked for further investigation.
No additional information regarding the fatal crash was provided by the Deputies.
