The California Highway Patrol reported a motor vehicle accident on Friday in Sacramento County. The accident occurred on River Road at around 7:30 p.m.
According to the officials, a vehicle was trying to avoid a drunken driver and swerve out of the way of a head-on collision. Unfortunately, this caused the vehicle to lose control and crash into the side of the road.
The vehicle’s driver was fatally injured and pronounced dead at the scene. The identity of the driver has not been disclosed at this time.
The driver of the vehicle that veered into oncoming traffic was arrested and it is suspected that he was driving under the influence. The fatal crash is still being investigated at this time.
