The Renton Police Department reported a motor vehicle accident on Friday night. The accident occurred on Maple Valley Highway at the 154th Place SE intersection just after 8:30 p.m.
According to the officials, the Washington State Patrol was trying to pull over a car that was fleeing at a high speed. This vehicle crashed into the back of another SUV after running a red light.
The suspect driver was fatally injured and was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the SUV, a woman, was critically injured and was taken to a hospital for treatment. The identity of the deceased man has not been disclosed at this time.
The cause of the fatal crash is still being investigated at this time. There are no other details available at this time.
