The California Highway Patrol reported a motor vehicle accident on Wednesday.
The accident occurred on Highway 4 near the Pittsburg-Bay Point border. The accident was reported to the officials at about 4:00 a.m.
The officials have not disclosed the number of cars involved or the severity of the crash.
They have also not released the identities and number of those injured. Their present states have not been disclosed.
The authorities have confirmed that there was one death. The identity of the deceased has not been disclosed.
The cause of the fatal accident is still being investigated.
It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the accident.
