A fatal crash in Seal Beach has led to the arrest of an alleged drunk driver, with one person dead and the driver facing serious charges. The motor vehicle accident occurred around 2:00 a.m. on Seal Beach Boulevard, south of North Gate Road, according to the Seal Beach Police Department.
The driver’s car collided with a pole, causing the vehicle to overturn and ejecting the female passenger, who was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics. The suspect, identified as 39-year-old Victor Alfonso Campos Carranza, was hospitalized post-crash.
Investigators have charged him with felony DUI causing bodily injury and gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated. The crash resulted in extensive closures on Seal Beach Boulevard and parts of the I-405 offramps, causing disruptions in the area.
