Tragedy struck early Wednesday morning in Nevada County when a woman lost her life in a fatal collision, according to the California Highway Patrol. The motor vehicle accident transpired around 4:23 a.m. on eastbound Interstate 80, situated west of Vista Point near the Donner Pass Road off-ramp.
Upon arrival, officers discovered a red pickup truck overturned on its roof in the centre median barrier. Unfortunately, the woman was ejected from the vehicle during the crash, as she was not wearing a seatbelt.
She was fatally injured and was pronounced dead at the scene. The identity of the woman has not been disclosed at this time. At this time, no further details have been released regarding the incident.
