A tragedy struck in Merced County as a teenager lost their life in a fatal rollover crash. According to the California Highway Patrol, the motor vehicle accident occurred on Highway 99, just south of the Atwater Merced Expressway, involving two teens in a 2010 Dodge Charger.
The driver inexplicably veered off the road, causing the vehicle to overturn near a highway shoulder. Sadly, the driver was fatally injured and was pronounced dead at the scene. The passenger was swiftly transported to a Modesto hospital.
The identity of the deceased victim is not yet known at this time. The investigation is ongoing, with officers working to uncover the reasons behind the fatal crash. The involvement of drugs or alcohol in this fatal incident is yet to be determined.
