In a tragic motor vehicle accident north of Laredo, a fatal rollover crash occurred on Interstate 35 around 5 a.m. on January 15. This was possibly caused by icy road conditions, as reported by the Texas Department of Public Safety.
The preliminary investigation indicated that a white 2000 Ford F-150 lost control due to the potential ice on the roadway near mile marker 22. The Ford rolled over multiple times onto the east side of the roadway. Sadly, a male resident of Roma, Texas, who was a passenger, was fatally injured and was pronounced dead at the scene.
His identity is not yet known at this time. The driver was transported to a Laredo hospital in stable condition. Troopers are actively investigating the fatal crash.
