The Kent Police Department reported a motor vehicle accident on Friday night. The accident occurred on State Route 516 just after 9 p.m.
According to the officials, a single vehicle was involved in the collision. The vehicle was trying to pass another car while going at a high speed. The driver lost control and slid sideways into a ditch. The vehicle then flipped before hitting a metal pole.
The driver was thrown out of the vehicle and was fatally injured. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The identity of the deceased victim is not yet known at this time.
The cause of the fatal crash is still being investigated at this time. It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the collision. There are no other details available at this time.
