The Irving Police Department reported a motor vehicle accident on Wednesday. The accident occurred in the northbound lanes of State Highway Loop 12.
According to the officials, a pedestrian and a vehicle were involved in a collision. The pedestrian was attempting to cross the highway when they were hit by an 18-wheeler.
The pedestrian was fatally injured and was pronounced dead at the scene. The identity of the deceased victim has not been disclosed at this time.
The cause of the fatal crash is still being investigated by the authorities. It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the collision. There are no other details available at this time.
