The California Highway Patrol reported a motor vehicle accident in Hayward. The accident occurred on Interstate 880 at around 3:13 a.m. on Sunday.
According to the officials, a silver sedan crashed into a tow truck while traveling at a high speed. The passenger from the sedan was thrown from the vehicle due to the collision.
The passenger incurred fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The identity of the deceased victim is not yet known at this time.
The driver of the sedan was arrested on the suspicion of driving under the influence and manslaughter.
