Tragedy struck the Gila River Indian Community on Monday morning. A fatal crash occurred at the intersection of Queen Creek and Health Center Roads around 6 a.m.
The Gila River Police reported the incident just west of Price Road near the Chandler border. Unfortunately, one person was fatally injured and was pronounced dead at the scene. The identity of the victim is not yet known at this time.
As of now, specific details about the accident have not been released. Gila River police are investigating the scene, and drivers are advised to avoid the area to facilitate the investigative process.
Authorities are working to understand the circumstances leading to this fatal motor vehicle accident. It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the collision.
