The Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office reported a motor vehicle accident in Donna on Saturday. The accident occurred in the area of rural Donna on Mile 3 North and FM 493 along a canal bank.
According to the officials, a single vehicle was involved in the collision. The events leading up to the crash are not yet known at this time. The vehicle ended up in the canal and was fully submerged.
The driver of the vehicle was fatally injured and was pronounced dead at the scene. The identity of the driver has not been disclosed at this time.
