The California Highway Patrol reported a motor vehicle accident in Concord on Sunday morning. The accident occurred on State Highway 242 at around 1:54 a.m.
According to the officials, a blue Nissan Sentra crashed into the guardrail of the offramp road on the highway. This caused the right front passenger to be ejected from the vehicle.
The passenger was rushed to a hospital with significant injuries. The driver of the vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene. The identity of the deceased victim is not yet known at this time.
The cause of the fatal crash is still being investigated. It is unknown whether alcohol or drugs played a role in the collision. There are no other details available at this time.
