According to the California Highway Patrol, a hit-and-run accident that took place in Modesto killed a man on Saturday. The accident occurred on the west shoulder in the southbound lanes of State Route 99.
At around 5:00 a.m., a man was found dead on the highway. The officials later reported that the man was struck by a vehicle. The vehicle that caused the death of the man escaped the scene.
The identity of the dead is not yet disclosed. It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash. The cause of the fatal crash is still being investigated. No further information is available at the moment.
