The Bakersfield Police Department reported a hit-and-run accident in Bakersfield, California, on March 29. The crash occurred around 2:30 a.m. at the intersection of South Union and Hosking Avenues in Bakersfield.

According to the authorities, a woman who was walking east in the 7700 block of Union was struck by a light-colored car travelling north. As a result, the victim was fatally injured and pronounced dead at the scene. The identity of the victim remains undisclosed at the moment. The driver of the car fled the scene before officers arrived.

Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the fatal crash. It is not yet known whether alcohol or drugs played any role in the collision. No other details are available as of now.
