A fatal hit-and-run accident in Waco early Sunday morning has left one person dead, and the Waco Police Department is in search of the suspect and vehicle involved. Responding to the scene at N. 20th and Colcord around 1:22 a.m., officers discovered a vehicle with three injured individuals.
Two of them were critically injured, transported to a local hospital, and are expected to recover. However, the third passenger tragically succumbed to their injuries at the scene. The identity of the victim is not yet known at this time.
The suspect vehicle, described as a cream-colored late-model four-door sedan with a box style and a possible two-tone roof, fled the scene without stopping. Police urge the public’s assistance in locating the vehicle, which is expected to exhibit heavy front end and hood damage. The investigation is ongoing into this fatal crash, and the next of kin has been notified.
