1 Person Killed In A Hit-And-Run Accident In Travis County (Travis County, TX)

The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) is investigating a fatal hit-and-run accident that led to lane closures on FM 969 in eastern Travis County on Wednesday morning.

At approximately 3:30 a.m., a Texas DPS trooper was called to the fatal crash near the 900 block of FM 969, located two miles east of U.S. Highway 183. According to DPS, an unidentified male pedestrian was struck by a vehicle that fled the scene.

The pedestrian was fatally injured and was pronounced dead at the scene. The road remained closed for several hours, with all lanes reopening around 6:30 a.m. The investigation is ongoing, and DPS has not released further details at this time.
