In a tragic hit-and-run accident on Tuesday night, January 30, a man lost his life on Highway 90’s westbound lanes. San Antonio Police Department’s early reports indicate that the pedestrian was fatally struck shortly after 8:30 p.m. The identity of the victim has not been disclosed at this time.
The unidentified driver fled the fatal crash, leaving the victim behind. Despite attempts by another motorist to provide aid, the pedestrian succumbed to his injuries, as first responders declared him dead at the 7400 block of Highway 90.
The scene, near a guardrail, witnessed officers placing a white tarp over the victim’s body while traffic continued to flow. The investigation is ongoing, with little information available about the fleeing vehicle. If apprehended, the responsible driver may face severe penalties, as failure to stop and render aid is a second-degree felony in Texas.
