The California Highway Patrol reported a hit-and-run crash that killed a man in Oakland on Sunday. The accident occurred on Interstate 980, near downtown Oakland at around 5:30 a.m.
According to the officials, a man and a vehicle were involved in a collision. A man was struck by a vehicle and killed while walking on the roadway. The man was fatally injured and was pronounced dead straight away. The vehicle involved fled the scene before the police could arrive.
The identity of the dead is not yet disclosed. It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash. The cause of the fatal crash is still being investigated. No further information is available at the moment.
